e+QUALITY? - EUrope, step up your game!

What does really matter in your life?
Do we as European citizens have common values?
How do young people in other European countries live?

Courageous citizens have spoken up on social media with the hashtags #metoo and #metwo. Outraged by the Weinstein scandal and concerned about the rise of populist politicians in many countries, they sparked a global debate on equality and discrimination. We see young people across all borders immensely engaged in the discussion. But the causes and backgrounds of discrimination remain frequently untold. Instead of a broad focus on solution approaches, one can observe that the race for new catchy headline is currently in the center of societies attention. The European Union has a leading role in the fight against sexism, racism, discrimination and xenophobia. Nevertheless, our common values and human rights as well as the solidarity within the EU are more and more often questioned, marginalized and openly fought. Currently, the Union is in a crisis and politics, media, democracy and our (core) values are challenged by the loss of citizens trust in it. Within our youth exchange we will target these issues related to equality and discrimination. The priority goal of our youth exchange is to discuss with young people from different countries about equality and discrimination to make them aware of these important topics.European Youth Exchange 2018
